About

Hi everyone! My name is Albert and I decided to create this blog because I enjoy writing and have heaps of opinions to share. And so I hope you find some value in them.

I live in Texas and I’m a project manager as well as an Army Reservist. I was born and raised in southern California and commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army through Army ROTC.  I served on active-duty for nearly 10 years and deployed to Iraq (OIF IV & OND), Afghanistan (OEF VIII), and Haiti (OUR), mostly serving as a paratrooper.

After leaving active-duty I graduated from a corporate leadership program and moved to Texas to finally grow some roots. Since then I met my wonderful wife, and have become active in several community organizations and the Republican Party of Texas.

I like to think myself an academic of sorts. On top of my bachelors degree, I used my Post 9/11 G.I. Bill to earn two masters. I also had the privilege of teaching as an assistant professor, which was an absolutely rewarding experience.

I enjoy being physically active, and run, swim, or powerlift almost every day. I make it a point to shoot my guns regularly, and I golf once in a blue moon. My favorite hobby, by far, is traveling the world. I’ve experienced over 50 countries and I have many more to explore with my wife. I even wrote and published a book about much of my travels, entitled, ‘A Young American Traveler: An Empire of Friends and Experiences.’

My favorite music is rap from the 1970s – 1990s; favorite tv show is The Simpsons; and favorite movie is Back to the Future.
